Ratings

  1. What types of games determine my CG Rating?
A player's CG Rating is calculated from the following: Cash Games and Cash Tournaments. (All Cash Games and Cash Tournaments are CG RATED) Players may choose whether or not to make their CG Rating public or private. CG Rating takes into account the money wagered.

  2. How is the Rating calculated?
A player's Rating, which is based on the FIBs rating formula, utilizes an experience variable to provide a "weight" to the rating calculation. In other words, a player with a 1600 rating and 10,000 experience points is viewed as a much more accurate rating than a player with a 1600 rating and 50 experience points. In theory, the player with 10,000 experience points has been a part of the rating system much longer, and thus has had more opportunities for comparison against the most number of players. In FIBS, this experience rating is the sum of all match points. For example, in a seven-point match if the final score is 8-2, the wining and losing player each receive 10 experience points.

The FIBS approach to ratings uses this weighted experience points variable to create an accurate analysis of a player's strength. However, the system can be abused. Since experience is so important to the relative strength of a particular rating, doubling the cube could be used to inflate a player's experience points and create a stronger weighted rating over time. For example, a player could play a 1 point match, but double the cube to 64, falsely creating a sense of "time served" within the FIBS rating system.

  3. What is the CG Rating?
To minimize the affect of inflated player's experience points and to create a separate rating for Cash games, Club Games Backgammon has instituted the CG-Rating system. The formula is identical to FIBS, except for the calculation of a player's experience points. In the CG-Rating formula, experience points are based on games played, not points won in a match. Therefore, if two players play a single game and double the cube to 64, they both will receive only 1 experience point as opposed to the total of the cube 64. Following the example used above, in a seven-point match with a final score of 8-2, which was decided by 4 games, both players would receive 4 experience points.

A tracking URL (or tracker) is a specific web address used for tracking online promotions. An example of a tracking URL looks like this: http://www.ClubGames.com/?XXX. We link your banners or text links through your own unique tracking URL. Since each tracking URL is unique, when a player enters ClubGames.com through your tracking URL, we credit that player to your Affiliate Account. When using a tracking URL, there is no need for the player to enter a sign up bonus code as our system automatically knows to give you credit for the referal.

  8. What is a sign up bonus code?
A sign up bonus code is 3 to 12 digit code that you select in the system. You can have one code or many codes for different promotions. It can be numbers and/or letters and look something like "4BCKGMN" or "123WINNER". Each code is unique and is assigned to a particular Affiliate; hence, when a player signs up using one of your sign up bonus codes, we know to credit you for that player. The bonus code is NOT case sensitive. For example, a bonus code such as "BCKGMN" is valid as "BCKGMN" (upper case) or "bckgmn" (lower case) or "Bckgmn" (upper and lower case).

  9. Do I need to offer players a bonus incentive to encourage them to sign up?
We strongly recommend that you use a special promotional offer in your marketing efforts to encourage players when signing up. This will significantly improve your conversion ratios (play money players who make a deposit and become real money players).

Please keep in mind that bonus amounts given to players are deducted in the calculation of gross revenue, and all bonus amounts are subject to release requirements that must be met before any player can play with or cash out the bonus amount so as to prevent abuse. These restrictions or requirements are contained in the offer itself and/or on a supplementary disclaimer page. See Club Games standard promotional offer terms & conditions for more information on release requirements.

  10. Where do players enter sign up bonus codes?
Players enter their sign up bonus code on the Open Account screen in the Club Games software, which is the screen where they first select their AccountName and password. Once entered, the system will automatically record the code to give the player the bonus amount, if any, when they make their first real money deposit to their Account. Please note that if you are promoting offline using a sign up bonus code and if players do not enter your code, they will not be tracked to you.

  11. What is a deposit bonus code and how is it different from a sign up bonus code?
A sign up bonus code is to encourage players to sign up and make their initial deposit, whereas a deposit bonus code is to encourage existing real money players to make additional deposits. Unlike sign up bonus codes, the deposit bonus codes are entered on the deposit screen of the Cashier.

  12. How do I activate multiple bonus codes and tracking URLs?
You can activate as many trackers as you want...try different promotions and offer different bonuses to see what works best. To activate multiple trackers, you will need to first sign up as an Affiliate. Then go to Affiliate Login at and login using your Affiliate ID and password. Please note that you DO NOT have to sign up again as an Affiliate to get new trackers.
